Current Event #1

http://www.cnn.com/2010/POLITICS/09/21/senate.defense.bill/index.html
I did this blog on the 'don't ask, don't tell' repeal policy that was stopped by the senate. The bill was stopped short by a heavy Republican vote against it. The final vote was 56-43 just four short of the 60 needed to overcome the Republican vote. A few Democrat party members said it was unconstitutional for the 'don't ask don't tell' policy was unconstitutional. Republicans argued that the Democrats were trying to use the policy that would give $725 billion in military spending to force through provisions with their political base before the November 2 elections.

I feel that it is unconstitutional to have that policy in place. If you are serving your country you should be able to express yourself with in limits. Though on the other hand I understand that the majority of the military is homophobic, and if every gay man and women was open about their sexuality it would cause tension. I do think overall that people should be able to express their sexuality at work, where ever it is.

Apple says do not hold the iPhone on the bottom left corner, because it causes reception issues. Apple also says that if you buy a cover for the phone it will help the problem as well. I think it is wrong for them to tell you not to hold the phone a certain way that feels comfortable. They should be working on ways to fix the phone, not telling us we can not hold it a particular way.

Mar. #1: Carolin Panthers Released QB Jake

The Carolina Panthers cut longtime starting quarterback Jake Delhomme late Thursday, just over one year after they gave him a five-year, $42.5 million contract extension, only to watch him have his worst NFL season. This is a pretty huge deal for the organization, but this means that the Panthers are standing behind the young Matt Moore quaterback and hopes he will be the one.

Feb. #3: Panther's Julius Peppers

Carolina Panthers All-Pro defensive end Julius Peppers was not placed with the franchise-play tag Tuesday afternoon. Julius Peppers has been play with the Panthers for the past eight years recording 81 sacks. To place the tag on Peppers would cost the Panthers more then $20 million, the General Manager Marty Hurney said he had to look at other players. There were four other impact players for the Panthers about to hit free agency and they need to spend some money on them. I say it was a good idea...
